Just received the delivery, and 2mins I was able to get it to work.
Switching from my old 2.4Ghz chip to my 5Ghz band wifi is what I was looking for, and this exactly did that.

I had bad experiences in previous products where the dongle glitches or disconnects occasionally. Hopefully I wouldn’t find that in this product.

Connecting to 5G network was an issue, had to tweak some things in system firmware. TP-link’s driver doesn’t really help if you’re running Windows 10/11.
Main issue – Disconnects once every 3-4 days without any warning. Overheating is also an issue which leads to disconnection probably.

When it works, it works great, almost as good as an Ethernet connection.

I recently acquired the TP-Link Archer T3U AC1300 USB WiFi Adapter in hopes of enhancing my desktop’s connectivity. Unfortunately, my experience with this product has been less than satisfactory, and I’m compelled to share my thoughts for potential buyers.

At first glance, the Archer T3U seems promising, boasting a compact design and the convenience of dual-band connectivity. The 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands are meant to offer seamless browsing and smoother streaming experiences. However, the actual performance fell short of these expectations.

The most glaring issue I encountered was the consistent disconnection problem. Despite being in close proximity to the router, the Archer T3U frequently dropped its connection. This disruption not only disrupted my online activities but also created a frustrating experience, especially during important tasks or streaming sessions.

Even more perplexing was the fact that the disconnections occurred without any discernible pattern. It’s as if the adapter had a mind of its own, making it difficult to predict when I’d suddenly lose connectivity. This unpredictability became a major drawback for me.

Furthermore, the installation process, which is usually straightforward with most USB adapters, was surprisingly convoluted. The driver installation wasn’t as intuitive as I’d hoped, and it required multiple attempts to get the adapter up and running. This added unnecessary complexity to the setup, which should ideally be hassle-free.

The promised dual-band capabilities, while theoretically advantageous, didn’t significantly improve my browsing or streaming experiences. The Archer T3U failed to deliver on its core purpose of providing consistent and reliable connectivity.

In terms of design, the compact size is commendable, as it doesn’t obstruct adjacent USB ports. However, in light of the performance issues, this becomes a minor consolation.

Overall, my experience with the TP-Link Archer T3U AC1300 USB WiFi Adapter has been marred by frequent disconnections and installation difficulties. While the compact design is a plus, it fails to compensate for the fundamental flaw of unreliable connectivity. I cannot confidently recommend this adapter to others, especially those seeking a stable and seamless internet connection. If you’re in search of a WiFi solution that offers consistent performance, it might be wise to explore alternatives.
