    Hey folks!

So, it’s been three years since I first unboxed my LG 22 inch IPS Monitor (22MP68VQ), and oh boy, what a journey it’s been! Buckle up as I take you through the highs and lows, the pixels and hertz, of this tech marvel.

The ‘Unboxing Day’ Nostalgia: I still remember the day I got it – the box was so sleek, I half expected it to contain a secret agent instead of a monitor. Setting it up was a breeze, though I did have a brief ‘is the stand supposed to wobble like this?’ moment. But once up, it stood firmer than my commitment to finish any TV series I start.

The ‘Coder’s Dream’ Screen: Being a coder, my primary use was (and still is) staring at lines of code for hours, wondering why they don’t work. The Full HD resolution made each character crisp and clear – a bit too clear when the bugs in my code stared back accusingly. The IPS panel’s color accuracy was a blessing, especially when I randomly decided to dabble in graphic design (a phase that lasted exactly 4 hours and 32 minutes).

‘Gamer Mode: ON’: Here’s where things get ‘

interesting! Gaming on this monitor is like riding a unicorn through a pixelated wonderland – smooth, vibrant, and slightly surreal. I’ve spent countless hours playing everything from fast-paced shooters to visually stunning RPGs. The 75Hz refresh rate and 5ms response time might not satisfy the hardcore gamers who speak in hertz and frames like it’s their first language, but for a casual gamer like me, it’s more than enough. Plus, the ‘Black Stabilizer’ feature is a godsend for spotting enemies lurking in the dark, sneaky little pixels!

Movie Nights and Chill: Watching movies on this monitor is like having a mini cinema at my desk. The color reproduction is spot-on, bringing life to every scene. I’ve journeyed through the depths of space in sci-fi epics and explored vibrant fantasy worlds, all from the comfort of my swivel chair. And when I watched horror movies, the sharp details ensured I didn’t miss any creepy background ghost that I’d regret seeing later at 2 AM.

‘Connectivity Carnival’: With VGA, HDMI, DVI, and Audio Out ports, this monitor is like a Swiss Army knife for connectivity. It’s played nice with every device I’ve thrown at it – laptops, consoles, even an old DVD player during a nostalgic tech revival weekend.

The Longevity Test: After three years, it’s still going strong, like an old warrior that refuses to retire. Sure, there’s a bit of wear and tear – a scratch here, a smudge there – but it still performs like a champ.

Verdict: All in all, the LG 22MP68VQ has been a trusty companion for coding marathons, gaming escapades, and movie binges. It’s a jack-of-all-trades that’s managed to hold its own in the fast-evolving tech world. If you’re looking for a reliable, no-nonsense monitor that won’t require you to sell a kidney, this one’s a solid bet.

And remember, folks, in the world of monitors, size isn’t everything – it’s all about how you experience those pixels. Happy pixel peeping!

I bought this monitor few days back and the picture quality is excellent. Now I can watch movies from different angles without worring much about it becoming dark thanks to the IPS panel. The movies have good brightness even for dark horror movies because it think it looks like the brighter colours stand out so I know whats happening in the movies in the dark. I must say but, that the monitor hardware buttons are very hard to press and I noticed that when I press right button to navigate right in the monitor OSD settings, it goes left and vice-versa. So I have to press left for right and right for left which can be a bit confusing but I can get used to that. Maybe while assembling it in the factory the worker goofed up and put it upside down and I got just that sweet model. The top and bottom buttons are ok. I also noticed that there is no sound coming out of the speakers connected via HDMI although the drivers seem to be fine in windows 10 in device manager and the sound device is showing with some indication of audio playback based on the tiny sound indicator, but no sound. All the volume inside the monitor and on windows is turned up to full. Maybe I mis-understood the literature, maybe there are no speakers inside the monitor. I see there is an audio-out port, so I connected a earphone to it and yes, there is good sound. So maybe, its intended that you connect an external audio device to the monitor, probably some earphones or headphones while watching a HD movie at close or gaming to get all the detailed sound effects and all. All you would need to do then is switch audio devices in windows. So this provides an additional audio output via hdmi, just in case needed. Anyway, all I care about is the display quality and brightness. I dont use monitor sound because I have my powerful iball tarang 2.1 wooden speakers which produces proper sound which is 100 times betten than any monitor or TV. And I don’t much care about the hardware OSD control buttons either because setting up the monitor is mostly a one time thing for me and then I never bother to touch it. I just set it to default factory settings and thats the brightest and best according to me. I also was able to download the sowtware monitor controler from the product website and control things like various color presets for gaming, cinema and custom etc. along with brightness and contrast. So no need to touch the buttons. So overall, inspite of the faults I noticed, I would say, I can live with that (life is never perfect) because the most important thing for me is the display quality, as that is my constant daily interaction and experience. Hence I say this is an excellent monitor to go for also taking into account its a fairly latest model launched in the year 2021.
