I used this usb drive to install a software update to my PS3 (formatted to Fat-32) and it worked without issues. Perfect for small file transfers. The extender is also very high quality.

Ota a cool good bag. The problem wit hit is that it doesn’t has any inner compartment to store money or other things –
The product ad says “SPEEDS UP TO 130 MB/s** READ” . Perhaps this is so under specific lab condtions.
I transferred 52.8GB from a 500GB SSD to this 64GB SanDisk in 1 hr. This amounts to an effective transfer rate of 15.01 MB/s. This was when I had formatted my 64 GB SanDisk in the NTFS format.
In the exFAT format in which you receive the SanDisk Flash Drive, it took me 1 hr 19 min with some HTML files left out as ‘could not be copied’. The transfer rate was lower at 11.40 MB/s.
I use Windows 11 and for this, NTFS format is much faster than exFAT plus it does not leave out any files as not being capable of being copied.
There were many reports by Amazon users that this Flash drive gets “hot”. Well, it does get ‘warm’ but not hot that you cannot touch it. I have other SanDisk Flash drives, which, when permanently connected into the USB slot, get warm without even transferring any data. There are also reports that as the Flash Drive gets “hot”, its transfer rate declines. I do not know how this conclusion is arrived at and am inclined to disbelieve it. So, this ‘getting warm’ is normal and should not be a factor in making a purchase decision.
The transfer rate depends on the source you are transferring from, the nature of the data you are transferring and the method you use for transferring. And, I do not think the transfer rate declines with the ScanDrive getting warm though I have not made any objective tests to say so but it just seems simply implausible.
If you are transferring from a HDD and have many folders and sub folders and sub-sub folders, the transfer rate decreases rather significantly.
The transfer rate also depends on whether you are transfering by ‘copy and paste’ method or ‘send to’ method or using a software like ACRONIS. The transfer rates are about the same in th first two methods but much higher using ACRONIS. (I refer to ACRONIS, not because I’m promoting it but because the basic version of ACRONIS comes free with Western Digital HDDs which I already have. Incidently ACRONIS is a good software for making automatic backups – even of bootable operating systems).
For instance, while transfering 152 GB from my 500 GB SSD directly to a 256GB SanDisk USB Flash Drive (just like the 64 GB one), it took me 1 hr and 28 min for an effective transfer rate of 29.48 MB/s. But using ACRONIS, the transfer took only 18 min for an effective transfer rate of 144 MB/s.
So, you can see that when SanDisk advertises “SPEEDS UP TO 130 MB/s READ”, they are NOT overstating. Howeverthe the effective transfer rate, which is “read rate plus write rate” depends on your source medium, the structure of your data and the method of transfer whether direct or through some software.
SanDisk was bought over by Western Digital few years ago. I have been using both SanDisk and Western Digital HDDs for several years and they are true to their specifications and guarantees. Not that there have been no failures but they quickly replace a device if it fails. And, usually you get adequate warning before a Western Digial HDD fails.
For the use most of us need these USB Flash Drives for, you will not make a mistake buying a Western Digital Flash Drive namely SanDisk, or, a Western Digital HDD for that matter. Just go for it depending on your need!

The pendrive delivers exceptional performance and durability, ensuring that your data is always secure and accessible. Its robust construction allows for reliable data transfer, even in demanding conditions. However, it’s important to note that excessive force or stress may cause the device to bend, which underscores the need for careful handling to maintain its structural integrity.
