A very good under appreciated motherboard for the lack of its RGB. It has ample features and a good replacement for 450 tomahawk. Only sore thing is it’s flimsy case back plate which was difficult to fix. Paired it with NZXT h510 case which had pre installed stand off and the connection very were easy.

Sadly this board suffered from the dreaded USB issues as well as taking for ever doing POST checks. BIOS update didn’t fix it. I also tried the PCIE Gen 3 “fix” as well as a few others. Nothing worked to stop the USB disconnects and crashes.

This is last MSI board that i buy. I read some reviews about M2_1 slot not working properly in this board, but I thought those customers just had bad luck. Well, my board has same problem.
– gen4 m.2 disk dont work in M2_1 slot. It only works in slot 2 with half speed (gen 3). Tested CPU that supports gen4. I tried on different CPU, which supports only gen3 disks. With this CPU, disk in M2_1 works only with PCIe 3.0 x1 speed instead of PCIe 3.0 4x speed. That is speed same to SATA drive. M2_1 slot has lanes related with CPU and this connection is messed in this board. I tried different CPU so its not CPU problem. If you plan to use more then one M.2 disks then dont buy this board as they will not work full speed. Just google this, there are many unresolved posta about this problem. Overall quality is very poor. board has annoying 2-3 sek delay between pressing the button and powering up. Boot time is also long and there is no fastboot option as in other boards. I am returning this board and never going back to MSI.

Flashback bios option did not work for me. I flashed this MB around 18 times and nothing. Everything powered on per the normal but MB never read the CPU. I tried dozens of USB drives, which made the whole flashing process incredibly frustrating. I tried this with two MSI MB’s and nothing worked for me. Flashing process was successful every time but for some reason CPU was never read. Returned got my money back and never looked back. The fact that I spent more money on this MB and it arrived used/not sealed and missing items out of the box. Not sure if my issue with flashing was actually a bad MB. Went with ASUS B550 ROG STRIX GAMING F which worked out of the box for the newer Ryzen 5 5600G CPU.
