Value for Money: Considering the quality and performance it delivers, this HDMI cable offers excellent value for money. It’s a small investment for a significant upgrade in your home entertainment setup.

I compared this to the camlink. Well, this is less finicky than the Camlink, and it works with Linux no problem. USB 2.0 is a huge, as it means it should work via USB hubs and cheap cables. The camlink does not.

Anyways, the video quality is slightly lower than the Camlink — MJPEG vs RAW video frames I think. There is also slightly more lag — like 1 frame of added latency. Still, for the price? can’t go wrong.

And it worked. Like, omg. I’ll see if I can get this working on something like my raspberry pi; if so, hurraz!

No muss, no fuss. Recognized by Zoom, OBS, Vmix. Makes an older camcorder useful for streaming. Some lag in a live switching environment, but that is to be expected. Excellent value.

Happy to buy this product. However, the picture quality is pretty okay but acceptable. One can tweak a little bit the picture quality in the OBS program. I suggest reducing contrast and open shadow and black a bit. Under the picture profile setting on your camera use portrait. The standard profile will be very contrasty. My concern is the lagging of video and audio. It also needs some tweaking as well. If you have a laptop with two USB A ports next to each other then the size of this device won’t let you insert another USB A device. It’s due to its bigger size. But certainly, it is a good value for money. I use it for my zoom meetings. Recommended for people who want to experiment with zoom call experience.

I needed to connect my high resolution screen camera to my computer to support the production of a stop motion video. No matter what I tried, I could not get the video production software to recognize the camera using an hdmi connection. A friend recommended this adapter and it worked beautifully. Just plug and play and I had great high res shots and the audio carries too. Really nice for anyone that would like to use a high res camera into an uber web cam for video chats or presentations

As a video professional I have shelled out thousands for capture equipment and when the first wave of these cheap dongles came about on Amazon, I lost a few hundred bucks to unreliable overheating hardware. As technology continues to push forward, I saw this Y&H USB capture card and because the price was so unbelievably low I had to give it a try. Much to my surprise, this thing works amazingly well! It captures video and audio with no drivers required (it presents a webcam called ‘USB Capture’). It has a proper EDID so it can be recognized as a monitor output for a computer. Most importantly, it runs at a very low temperature and appears to be consistent, suitable for 24/7 usage. This was a big issue with some earlier cheap capture cards and I can’t understand how they’ve done this so well for so cheap (I paid less than $20 for this). The limitations of the device are – 1, it’s limited to 1080p/30 so while it can accept higher inputs you will get 30 FPS on your recording/stream. They seem to have a model available that does 60 FPS for not much more money, but I haven’t tried it. 2, the image quality is very good but does show some signs of compression, light artifacts and changes in colour saturation (seems to want to default to Rec601 although it can be set to Rec709). Most people may not even notice these differences, but coming from professional capture gear like Epiphan or Blackmagic you will see a slight difference. 3, this is a nitpick but it would be nice to have a port on the dongle instead of the connector itself, as it uses USB-A and the device while impossibly small can still block an adjacent connector on a tight rig. Despite these limitations the price and utility of this dongle makes it a no-brainer addition to anybody’s kit, either as a starter solution or as an easy backup device in case your main capture pipeline goes down. A must-buy. Bravo!

I had been using Camlink Elgato for my workplace for our online workshops and webinars and after it went mysteriously-missing (!), I needed to quickly buy a lower priced product. Tried this out with my Sony NX200 camcorder as the external camera with my Dell i5 laptop and it works very well. I’m happy with it.

I bought this capture card with absolutely no expectations. But to my surprise, this works flawlessly, though, it’s limited to 1080p 30fps output, but for this price, it’s amazing! The quality is not on par with Corsairs, but it’s still extremely good. I use it for my Nikon DSLR with MacBook Pro for live streaming and it works perfect. No drivers needed for Mac either, it’s direct plug and play. No frame drops at all. The colours are a tad bit desaturated as compared to the expensive ones, but it’s unnoticeable unless compared side by side. Nothing you can’t correct with a little bit of colour correction. Can’t comment on the audio, as I don’t route audio through it. Definitely go for it if you’re looking for a cheap capture card. It’s worth it!

Does the job. If used for a long time it is heated.
