I have GA-X370-Gaming 5 motherboard and with just a BIOS update this CPU worked perfectly well. I would say I got 10 to 20 FPS more by upgrading the CPU then again my GPU is still 1070. If you have old Ryzen motherboard and you’re looking forward to upgrade, just make sure you have latest and greatest BIOS version and you’re good to upgrade.

Excellent CPU. I upgraded from the 1700 (1st gen) and this was a huge change in all respects. I highly recommend this processor, especially if you plan to overclock it to some extent. –
Awesome CPU it’s worth upgrading if you have 1000,2000,3000 series ryzen processors .. It uses 65w which is so good for a 8 core chip and it’s very fast and optimised well. Its 10/10 very well with the money.

I use my PC for a mix of gaming and productivity and I have nothing but praise. I have this CPU matched to the Be Quiet! Pure Rock 2 for cooling. My unit hangs around 76 degrees Celsius running Cinebench R23 without overclocking, scoring 14,300. For productivity, it is a beast. photo processing on RawTherapee is a breeze, especially compared to my previous Ryzen 5 2600. It just goes so much faster. Before purchasing this, it might be worth checking out the price on the 5800x, as there are often discounts that make the prices comparable. Also, if you believe that most of your time is going to be spent gaming, the 5700X3D and the 5800X3D may be better options, although you might need to spend more. Overall, it is a great processor for doing a little bit of everything, but it might lag behind the X3D variants in gaming.

So I was planning to upgrade my specs from AMD Ryzen 5 2600 to something powerful and multi-threaded; my budget was under Rs 20000, and I needed at least an 8 core processor. I was thinking of switching to Intel, but again, 11th, 12th, and 13th generation i7 processors are really costly; moreover, if I switch to Intel, I also need to change motherboard. Luckily, one day I saw a drop in price for AMD Ryzen 7 5700x, and I ordered it instantly without giving it a second thought.
I don’t see any significant improvement in performance when compared with my previous 6-core processor. No doubt, 5700x is a good processor, but for gaming, I think the performance is equivalent to that of 5600x, which costs 3000–4000 rupees less than 5700x. I would say that the 5700x is capable of heavy multi-tasking and can be very useful for designing an office LAN server-client system.

Misschien beeld ik me het in maar hoewel ik de videokaart niet veranderd heb lijkt het beeld me duidelijker. Plezierig is ook dat ik naar muziek kan luisteren en naar iets anders kijken zonder dat het geluid hapert. De aanleiding van mijn aankoop was niet voor videospelen maar wel voor Cubase (muziekprogramma) dat soms haperde. Nu verloopt alles foutloos. Heb wel in de Bios de frequentie lager ingesteld omdat de processor, bij bijna geen belasting, dikwijls rond meer dan 4000 ghz draaide met navenant ventilatorgeluid. In elk geval tevreden en temperatuur van de processor blijft laag zelfs met een kleine ventilator.
